A discussion on facebook

Dhaval: Ram Mandirach pahije!
Dishika: no mandir .....no masjid....however, there are a lotta other things that need to be considered...wat abt Advani...doesnt he deserve to be punished?
Dhaval: why single out only a Hindu Advani?? wht abt Babar who razed the Ram Mandir? wht abt Geelani? Wht abt Afzal Guru? Wht abt Abu Salem? Wht abt the all the Muslims livin in India who support a mosque in the place of demolished Ram Mandir?
(Me)@dhaval - babri masjid was built on a temple... agreed. But that was almost 600 years ago........ and that was not the only thing which was demolished...... When Mughals had ruled India, they damaged many idols all across the country..... But they also brought in the Mughal culture to India (which was not such a bad thing) India owes the beautiful architecture it has, partly to the Mughals. Now i see babri demolition as a pro-active destruction of a historical monument; aiming at hurting religious feelings... what sense does that make to do this 600 years later!!!
‎‎Dhaval: Aisi 'chalta hai' attitude se toh sab kuch chal jayega Priyanka. In that case the parliament bombing happened years back.. what difference does it make now if the terrorists are hanged or stay alive courtesy the President? Kashmir accord was signed way back in 1947 then why are the Muslims in Kashmir still fighting and killing Indians? There are some things that cannot be forgotten or left to their fate Priyanka. Nd just bcoz the Mughals brought some Art forms to India does it mean that gives them a license to destoy Hindu monuments??
(Dishika) @Dhaval: I dont think this is chalta hai attitude...like pointed out by u there are a lotta things that happen everyday...(Example: rape, extortion, murder, robbery, balsts, riots, bandhs by political leaders, etc... ) that we hate & jiske hone se NAHIN CHALTA HAI...but tell me haven't most of us...put those things behind us & moved on....Non one forgets anything wrong that happens...but being a part of the society & culture we belong to...after a few days we again all come together and life moves on.... 600 yrs is a lotta time...why are some silly people wasting time, money, energy, resources on something that is scaring the common man... Why cant the govt take a rational decision and make a multi utility park or a library or just call it a GOVT land...why communal aspect to be bought? Why is the govt so weak..???????
(Me) @dhaval- nobody is giving license to destruction... anybody who does it, should be punished...terrorism is a different ball game altogether... we know what terrorists do; but do we know 'why' they do it? They are Frankenstein's monsters- the one who made them has lost control over them.. who 'made' them? well that is a subject of research.. Also i believe killing terrorists is no solution to terrorism, it would rather fuel it...i am not trivialising the matter by saying that Mughals bought Art form in India so they had the right to destroy what they want.. I am just saying that revenge after 600 years does not make sense... It is not chalta hai attitude... It is letting go of it...
Rahul- agar bana toh mandir....warna kuch nahi....thats my attitude....rather i can say almost all the hindus will have that attitude.... but its not the case with muslim........they started spreading their religion wherever they went...Indian kings never worried abt that. Many kings had muslim sardars or leaders in their squad..... bolnyacha taatparya he ki m ready to compromise rather than bringing justice by force....
(Me) @rahul- i agree that they may have been conversions in Christianity and Islam (in fact a lot of religions have done that- I did not add this sentence on fb)... Abt Hinduism... It is a way of life which is all-accomodating.. i agree to that too. Also Rahul, many people mix two things- religion as a political statement and a personal choice. When you talk about conversions, you are talking about those people who blurred the same lines. In which case, you are not talking about religion; you are talking about politics which has used the religion. Let us look at the issue more like a destruction of historical monument aimed at hurting religious feelings DELIBERATELY. Religion is not politics

Hitler's Indian army

Absolute authority of any thought/idea/philosophy over a human being; kills independent thinking and promotes herd mentality. The result? Unconditional loyalty to that philosophy with passionate , zealous commitment and promotion of the same; to the extent of overlooking the flaws and hidden agenda it contains therein.
When does a human being let an authority dominate him/her? I believe that it is when that authority has proven to be a balm for sore points and profitable for one's personal progress. There can be no other reason because unconditional loyalty and passion comes from love and love is innately a selfish emotion.
Hitler's ideology is the epitome of the same. Google some reasons why he hated Jews the way he did. There has to be some personal agenda of hatred and the need for personal progress (i.e. progress of the Germans)
In India, we can see that quite often. When herd mentality goes beyond mere adherence to fashion; it is dangerous. Herd mentality in fashion too reflects a way of thinking.
Herd mentality 'manufactures consent' and generates evidence and circumstances to support it. For example: Since the Ayodhya verdict is due any time; there are discussions about the same in many places. People who are in favour of it; choose pieces from the history that supports their persepective and present that as evidence while arguing. The same happens to people who are against it. The only difference while going against the tide; is giving history another thought or giving a minority mindset a place in your head to think.
We all know what kind of a mess history is. I think history exists so that it can be distorted. When people use random facts to validate their ideology; they not only misrepresent history but they dangerously talk themselves into believing the same.
